"Al" was my first LPO aboard the EMORY S. LAND pre-com crew back in 1979. I learned a lot from AL, and probably got one of the best butt chewings from him that I ever received during my time in the Navy. He was a great guy, a good friend, and a real Sailor. I was sad to hear of his passing.
